What if you could taste a power-up?

To launch League of Legends: Wild Rift in Southeast Asia, we gave gamers a literal taste of the game. We brought Honeyfruit, an in-game power-up, to life in the real world.

For the first time in League's history, gamers got to do the impossible: devour the game's most delectable power-up in real life.

 
 
 
 

Crafting a taste that’s literally out-of-this-world.

 

We worked with Massimo Pasquarelli, the Ritz-Carlton Singapore’s executive chef, to reimagine Honeyfruit in the real world.

Using molecular gastronomy techniques, we infused the fruit with micro beads of flavour to create an otherworldly taste that was different with every bite. As a result, no one could agree on how the fruit tasted, sparking riots in the comments as the world argued about what the magic fruit really tasted like.

From in-game to REAL LIFE.

 

To complete the experience, we also wanted gamers to feel like they were transported into the game. The Honeyfruit’s shell was modeled from scratch and custom made to replicate the in-game fruit as closely as possible.

On-ground, we created Honeyfruit carts that were designed to look like they came straight out of Wild Rift, complete with a river-dwelling Scuttle Crab.
